My Story

“I LOVE TO GATHER INSPIRATION FROM OTHERS AROUND ME AND REALLY EXPLAIN MY PHILOSOPHY ON PARENTING AND MOTHERHOOD.”

My married life started with a blind date. My husband and I met and it was over for both of us. Now eight years later, we have continued on this incredible journey together. After we were married, we began to love unwanted dogs. It started with one dog, then another, then another (all happy accidents). After we had our dogs, we started to have our own little family. It started with one baby, then another, and then another (all joyful endeavors). My backyard began with a small vegetable garden five years ago, then we added some fruit trees, and then we started keeping bees and adding more flowers, trees, and bushes. Next we added chickens. Who knows what’s next? It is an adventure one day and one step at a time. I don’t claim to know it all by any stretch of the imagination, I just love to learn and share what knowledge I do have.

I remember when I was a kid; I went to a sleep-away camp in Austria. We were living in Germany at the time because it is where my family was stationed. My father was in the military my whole life. During this camp, we slept in cabins and would get up early every morning and hike in the Alps. I have a very distinct memory of one refreshing hike. After we had hiked for a bit, I remember I took off my shoes and walked around the wet grass and feel the dew on my feet. Then, we waded in ice-cold water and I particularly remember the feeling of my feet going numb because that water was so cold, but never feeling so connected to nature in that experience. It was then that I realized that just existing in the crisp morning air and being wrapped up in nature, I never felt more rejuvenated and more in touch with the earth.

We are also a camping family. We have a family trailer that we go on several trips a year in; it is our home away from home. We love tinfoil dinners, cooking s’mores and just covering as much ground travelling as far as we can for as long as we can.

Also growing up with a military family, it helped me create a very organized and structured way of existing. I love to share using my creative outlet, by selling products that I value in my own life. I love to organize, enhance and maximize the spaces I live in. I like to DIY all the things in my home, so that it feels it has value and it is being acknowledged as something important in my life. I love to be practical, and to have fun as well. This is how my hobby of making shirts, towels, crafts, labels and such has blossomed into a business.

As an adult, I am now realizing that my upbringing has shaped my interests and hobbies through real-life experiences. It is refreshing to see how our life experiences mold us each so differently. I love to gather inspiration from others around me and really explain my philosophy on parenting and motherhood.

Recently I watched a show called, “The Chef Show” with Jon Faverau. There was a scene where he was talking to Robert Rodriguez and he said, “I like how you say when you learned how to learn,” and then said, “you cracked the code on how to crack the code.” That is exactly how I feel. I feel that I have cracked the code on learning how to learn and therefore nothing is off limits now. I can do and try new things all the time and I believe we all can.
